Summarising a value
The function a value field is summarised by in every cell, its name and how its numbers are written.
The functions
Summarise by (in a value's menu, on its name in the grid, or by a right-click on a number) chooses one of Sum, Count, Average, Max, Min, Product, Count numbers, StdDev, StdDevp, Var, Varp and Distinct count.
Only the functions that read the field's kind are offered: a text is counted, not summed.
Name and format
- Rename… gives the value another name in the grid.
- Number format… writes its numbers with so many decimals, as a percentage or a currency; the exact value stays in the cell.
