Charts
A chart of what the grid shows: the same answer, drawn.
Adding a chart
Chart (in the Source bar) adds a chart of what the grid shows: the row items are its categories, the column items and the value fields its series. It is a Column, Bar, Line, Area, Pie, Doughnut or Radar chart; columns, bars and areas stand Side by side, Stacked, or Stacked to 100%. On a column chart a value field can be drawn As a line, and a value field can be measured On a second axis.
Reading it
- Totals are not drawn; a closed item is one category, and its button under the chart opens it.
- Point at a mark to read its items and its number, and click it for its records.
- The pivot's fields stand on the chart as buttons that open what their names in the grid open.
- Click the chart's name to give it a title; Description… says in words what it shows, read in place of the picture.
- A pivot can have several charts; Remove takes one away.
A chart is the same answer as the grid: nothing is read again.
