Several pivots in one analysis

Pivots of the same Entity side by side as tabs, narrowed together by one slicer.

The tabs

An analysis can hold several pivots of the same Entity, as tabs above the Source bar: Add a pivot adds an empty one, and a pivot's own menu (the ⋯ on its tab, or a right-click) has Rename…, Duplicate, Move left, Move right and Remove the pivot — an analysis always has at least one.

Each pivot has its own fields, look, charts and steps back; they share the records chosen under Which records?. Refresh all reads every pivot of the analysis again; a pivot shown again otherwise has the numbers it last read. Save, Open and a reload keep every pivot.

One slicer for several

A slicer or a timeline is the analysis's: its menu lists the pivots under Connected to (a timeline's under Pivots), and every pivot ticked there shows the same control — a click in any of them narrows them all, each where the field stands in it or among its report filters.

  • Connecting a pivot gives it what is chosen; unticking it takes the control away there and leaves its filter as it was.
  • A pivot that groups the field's items another way is not connected, and says so.
  • Not built yet: dragging a pivot's tab to move it.
