Correcting a record
Edit a record's fields; what happens when someone else changed it meanwhile.
Correcting a record
In the record view, Edit turns each field into an input for its data type. A field the domain view marks read-only stays as text. A reference entity's records are fixed reference data: their record view offers no Edit and says so. A reference entity published by the Platform lists the Platform's reference records first; its column is read only (no Add record, no relations), and each record opens read only with where it is defined. Save checks the change against the same rules as a new record (required fields, data types, validation rules) before anything is written; Cancel leaves the record as it was.
If someone else changed a field after you opened the record, that field is not overwritten. The record view shows the value you started from, the value now saved and yours; choose Keep current value or Use my value. The other fields you changed are saved. Merging two values is not offered, because no field type supports it yet.
Keep in mind A value can be changed but not emptied yet. To remove a wrong value, enter the right one.
