The invite link opens but has expired
You opened the invite link you received and it says “The invite has expired”. Invites are valid for seven days; you need a new one.
For: Member, Tenant administrator
What happened
You clicked the invite link in your email and signed in. The page shows the heading “The invite has expired” and the status “Expired”; there is no accept button.
Why it happens
An invite is valid for seven days from the moment it is created and can be used once. An expired invite can no longer be accepted. This is so that an old link cannot let someone into a tenant years later.
What inlorus does
- It does not accept an expired invite and says so plainly.
- It keeps the invite in the list on the tenant admin's Members screen and marks it as expired.
What you do
- Ask your tenant admin to renew the invite.
- The tenant admin sends a new invite with the same email and role from the Members screen; they can withdraw the old invite if they wish.
- Within seven days, open the new link while signed in with the email address the invite was sent to, and accept it.
How to keep it from happening again
- Tell the person you invite that the link is valid for seven days.
- As a tenant admin, check the Pending invites list regularly and withdraw expired invites.
