How-to

Turn on two-step verification

You protect your account by asking at sign-in for the 6-digit code from your authenticator app as well as your password.

For: Platform administrator, Builder, Account administrator, Tenant administrator, Operator, Auditor, Member

Prerequisite

An authenticator app such as Google Authenticator or 1Password on your phone.

Steps

  1. Open the Two-step verification screen from the account menu and press Enable.
  2. Scan the QR code on screen with your authenticator app. If you can't scan it, enter the key written below it into the app by hand.
  3. Type the 6-digit code the app shows into the Verification code field and press Verify and enable.
  4. Your recovery codes appear on screen. Save them somewhere safe and press I've saved them, continue.

Result

The status becomes “Enabled — an authenticator code is required at every sign-in.” Recovery codes are shown only at that moment; when you can't reach your authenticator, each one can be used for a single sign-in.

From the same screen, with an authenticator code or a recovery code, you can use Get new recovery codes and Disable MFA.

Keep in mind If the code is not accepted, it says “Invalid code. Enter the current 6-digit code from your authenticator app.” Codes refresh quickly; enter the current code from the app.
