Screen guide

Teams

Shows this Tenant's teams and who is in each team. You create teams, rename them, and add Tenant members to a team or remove them.

For: Tenant administrator

What's on this screen

On the left, every team: its permanent name (key), display name and number of people. Choose one to open it on the right: who created it, its description and its members, with the forms that change them; the address keeps the choice (?open=). A team no one has been added to yet opens with a note saying so; this isn't an error, it's a newly created team.

The screen only works while the console is in a Tenant scope; if not, you are asked to switch to a Tenant with the scope switcher.

What you can do

  1. With no team chosen in the list, fill in Team name and the optional What it does, then press Create team. The permanent name is generated from this name and you are told what it is.
  2. To add a person to a team, open the team and choose someone from the Tenant member list and press Add to team. The list contains only members of this Tenant who aren't in the team.
  3. To remove someone, press Remove next to their name and confirm.
  4. To change the display name or description, use Rename.
  • A second team with the same name can't be created in the same Tenant; the name must contain at least one letter or digit.
  • Renaming changes only the display name; the permanent name stays as it was when created.
  • There is no team deletion on this screen.

Good to know

Keep in mind Team membership on its own grants no permission. Permissions come from roles and are given on the Roles screen. Removing someone from a team doesn't touch their Tenant membership or roles either.

Tip Seeing it needs team.read in this Tenant; all four actions need team.write. If you don't have write permission, you see a note stating the missing permission instead of the form. To add someone who isn't in the list, they first need to be added to the Tenant on the Members screen.
