Screen guide

Account Studio

The screen where an Account defines and publishes its own capabilities. A capability published from here is visible only to that Account's tenants.

For: Builder, Account administrator

What's on this screen

  • The screen opens with the first Account where you have an assignment. If you have assignments in more than one Account, a switcher appears at the top showing the first eight characters of their IDs. If you have no assignment in any Account, the screen says it doesn't apply here.
  • This account's capabilities, on the left: each capability with its key, name and latest version. Choose one to open it on the right with its canonical address and its versions, each with its status; the address keeps the choice (?open=).
  • New capability, on the right when no capability is chosen: the same form as in Capability Studio; the draft it creates belongs to this Account.

Getting a version ready for use

  1. Create a draft with the form; it appears in the list with the v1 and draft badges.
  2. If the version doesn't need anything else, press Declare no dependencies. The row then shows "dependencies declared".
  3. Press Publish. The badge becomes published and the version appears on the Capabilities screen of this Account's tenants.

Keep in mind A version whose dependencies haven't been declared can be published but can't be installed in a tenant: the install stops with a NO_DEPENDENCY_SET error. This screen only allows declaring "no dependencies"; there is no field for entering a real dependency or for adding a new version to an existing capability.

Who can do what

TaskPermission key needed (in this Account's scope)
See the listcapability.read
Create a draft, declare no dependenciescapability.write
Publishcapability.publish

Tip Keys are looked up in the Account scope; your permissions in one of the Account's tenants don't count here. If you can write drafts but can't publish, the screen shows the missing capability.publish below the form. A capability belonging to another Account can't be published from this screen.
