Getting started
The two-step setup you need before you can start using the console: setting up your own organisation and choosing the domains your tenant works in. The screen opens at the step you have reached.
For: Platform administrator, Account administrator, Tenant administrator, Member
Steps
| Step | When it appears | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Set up your organisation | If you are not a member of any Tenant | Creates an Account and its first Tenant, and assigns you the Administrator role on that Account. |
| Choose your tenant's domains | If you have at least one Tenant membership | Sets which domains the active Tenant works in. Only someone with domain.write in the Tenant chooses; everyone else sees the Tenant's domains and continues. |
Setting up an organisation
- Enter the Organisation name (required).
- Optionally enter the First workspace name; if you leave it blank, the Tenant takes the same name as the organisation.
- Press Create organisation. When setup finishes, you are taken to the catalog screen.
The new Account starts with the Platform's current default settings, and the Tenant starts with a copy of the Account's settings.
Choosing the tenant's domains
- Tick one or more domains. The more detailed domains under a ticked one open right below it.
- Choose at least one; if you choose none, nothing is saved and you see a warning.
- Press I'm done. The Tenant's domains are set and the catalog screen opens.
Domains belong to the Tenant, not to a person: everyone in the Tenant sees what belongs to its domains, plus everything that belongs to no domain. A domain stays open when it or something beneath it is ticked; every other domain is closed for this Tenant.
Tip You can change the Tenant's domains later on Domain & Application Management. To join an existing organisation, ask its administrator for an invite; the link adds you to the right Tenant.
