Sample data: what a tenant gets at install

Under the contents, Sample data — version N holds datasets stored with this version: rows a tenant gets as sample records when it installs the package. Nothing is written to any tenant before install, and the rows are never records here.

  1. Under New sample dataset, give a key and a name and press Create dataset. It is added to the contents at once.
  2. Add rows one by one under Add or change a row: the entity, a row key (unique in the dataset), a value per field, and a link through a relation to a row already in the dataset. The same key changes that row.
  3. Or upload a workbook under Upload a workbook: one sheet per entity named with its key or name, a key column, a column per field, and a link:<relation key> column per relation. It replaces the rows only when every row passes.
  4. Read What a tenant would get: the records per entity and the links between them, or the problems that stop the version from being published.
What you seeWhat it means
A row refused with a reasonIt names a field the entity does not have, a value that is not its field's type, a required field left empty, a rule of the entity it does not meet, or a link to a row that is not in the dataset or through a relation the two entities do not have.
"N problems" on a datasetIt was valid when written and its entities changed since. Publishing refuses the version until the rows are fixed.
"its sample data is locked"The version is published; its sample data does not change. Start a new version to change it.
